Domaine

Mas Delmas

The Domaine currently has 9 hectares of vines in organic farming. This 9 hectares and the vinification has been certified “Biodynamic” since 2017 harvest. It is on the last slope of the Corbières Maritimes in the Pyrénées-Orientales (66) that the vines of Mas DELMAS bask in the sun, due to little rain and an almost permanent Tramontana (Local wind), are the guarantors of healthy, natural agriculture that respects the environment and human beings. The clay-limestone terroir gives the wines a minerality as well as a most seductive spicy side with the schist subsoil.

Mercedes and Pierre-André DELMAS have established Mas DELMAS in Salses le Château then in Rivesaltes.

The quest for balance

Nature produces … Pierre-André Delmas only pays attention, he accompanies him.
All his senses are awakened: he listens, looks, smells and breathes the vine, his terroir.

“As a true epicurean, in love with life,
I adapt to the rhythm of the land and the vines in order to get the best out of them
to produce fine wines that  improve the taste and the nature.”

Our commitment

To guarantee and provide our customers with great wines with the authenticity and originality of its grape varieties and its terroir, while penalizing the planet as little as possible. Our supplies are all or in part from recycled products:

– Our wine bottle packaging boxes are made from 90% recycled paper.

– The printing inks for boxes and labels are of vegetable origin.

– Our washing and disinfection products do not contain chlorine, do not come from petroleum and are biodegradable.

Wine qualities

Most of the work is done by hand. Weeding is mechanical like most of the interventions.
We harvest manually in 10 kg crates which are placed in a cold room within half an hour after cutting. This resulting in blocking the aromas and not using sulphites on the harvest.
The white and rosé wines are settled at low temperature.
The red wines undergo a pre-fermentation cold extraction for 3 to 5 days.
Whenever possible, we only work with indigenous yeasts and we do not stick the wines.
Aging in barrels brings a subtlety, richness, roundness and finesse worthy of the greatest wines.
We carry out a gentle filtration at the time of bottling.
